The Foster County Treasurer is an appointed position and combined with the Auditor's Office. The Current Foster County Auditor/Treasurer is Ellen Roundy.

As the Treasurer she performs the following duties:

Collects taxes (Real Estate and Mobile Home) and disburses tax monies to taxing districts
Invests county funds for availability, safety and rate of return
Provides information such as land values, mill levies, tax amounts, land ownership and legal description to lenders, realty agents, lawyers, accountants and various other public and private agencies
Reconciles bank accounts
Collects fees and fines from county offices
Do and perform all acts not enumerated in this section which the treasurer is required to do by law (see Chapter 11-14: County Treasurer.)

Personal Responsibilities

Per North Dakota State Law, failure to receive a statement shall not relieve the owner of liability, nor extend the discount privilege past the February 15th deadline. Please call as soon as possible if you do not receive a statement. It is the responsibility of the property owner to notify our office of address changes.

Due Dates

A 5% discount is given on the consolidated tax for both real estate and mobile homes if paid (or postmarked) on or before February 15th of each year. For real estate, the first half plus the full amount of yearly installment of special assessments are due by March 1st; the second half is due (or postmarked) on or before October 15th. For mobile homes, the first half is due by March 1st; the second half is due by June 30th.
