Overview

Central Prairie Human Service Zone  is a department of Foster County government that has been designated by law to provide poor relief and related services to the citizens of Foster County. The majority of the services/programs offered by the county are done in conjunction with state and federal agencies, particularly the North Dakota Department of Human Services. Central Prairie Human Service Zone provides a wide range of services including both social services and economic assistance programs. Some services are provided directly by county employees and others are provided through contracts.

Administrative Structure

Central Prairie Human Service Zone is directly responsible to the Central Prarie Human Service Zone Board. The Board is directly accountable to the Wells County Commission and, where designated, the North Dakota Department of Human Services. The Board consists of seven members who are appointed by the Foster, Eddy, and Wells County Commissioners. The Human Service Zone Board meets monthly. The Board appoints the Director of Social Services.

Personnel

Personnel include a county director, social worker, two eligibility workers, and one homemaker.
